Engine & Fuel System Services
Fuel system problems are the most common cause of starting and running issues. We address them thoroughly.
Carburettor cleaning, rebuild and replacement. Stale or contaminated fuel causes jets to block, leading to hard starting or rough running. We clean, rebuild or replace carburettors on all small engine types.
Engine oil and filter changes, piston ring replacement, valve grinding, compression testing and complete overhauls. We restore engine performance and extend machine life.
Fuel tank cleaning, fuel line inspection and replacement, primer bulb replacement and fuel cap vent clearing. We flush and clean the entire fuel path.
Spark plug inspection, cleaning and replacement, air filter cleaning and replacement, recoil starter repair and ignition coil testing. All included in every full service.
A properly serviced engine uses less fuel, starts reliably and lasts longer.
Why Choose Ribcon for Engine Services

Brush cutters, chainsaws, leaf blowers (2-stroke) and lawn mowers, generators, water pumps (4-stroke). We service both.

Frequently Asked Questions
My mower won't start, what is usually the cause?
Most commonly a blocked carburettor (from old fuel), a fouled spark plug or a low-oil shut-off. We diagnose the specific cause and fix it properly.
How often should I service the engine?
Annual service for domestic use, or every 25–50 hours for commercial use. This typically includes oil, spark plug, air filter and carburettor check.
Do you work on two-stroke engines?
Yes. Both two-stroke (brush cutters, chainsaws, leaf blowers) and four-stroke engines (lawn mowers, generators, water pumps).
Can you source replacement carburettors?
Yes. Call us with your make and model and we will check availability. We stock common carburettors and can source others.
